Default Work and Knowledge - 06-13-2007, 06:01 AM

Learn while you earn is perhaps very difficult to do. Whenever I am on Net I am loaded with work to do, so I seldom get time to pursue what I want to learn. I want to know how do I balance my timing between updating my knowledge and my daily job.

Question 06-15-2007, 08:18 PM

I'm in the same boat you are. I get on the pc and have so many things to do, that I can never seem to get the time to do the things I enjoy on there.I do manage to do 2 jobs at once. The way they are ,I can do both at once. That helps. But would also like to hear any tips any one has.

I'm fortunate in that I have a job where I do research, so I am always looking things up, reading and learning about new things. I do, however, make it a regular habit to click on and read all the various news headlines each and every day, which often raise my curiosity and get me to go looking for things.

It's very easy to get led astray but you just have to keep the mind stimulated and wanting to learn. You'll find you make the time

These are the best jobs for me too..learn as I am working. I enjoy them the most. Some people don’t like learning stuff all the time. These are the people who don’t like change. I strive on change and I am a progressive thinker. If one does the Myers Brigg personality test, one would find out exactly where you stand. They are pretty accurate. I am an INTJ for instance..we don’t like being put in a mold. We are 2% of the population...the inventors. That’s why I have done many things in my life...I am always reinventing myself. I had no idea, however, that it was an INTJ trait until I did the test! LOL

Here's what I do. I set a goal when I sit down at the pc. I post a few and get up and do something else then come back.

You can post a few learn a few.

I love learning new things, so I take email tutorials. At some websites I can sign up to get a lesson delivered to my email once a week. Once a week is about all I can manage.

That is a great idea Fizz! But are these email tutorials a paid service or can you just sign up for free? It‘s something I was thinking of doing for photography or sewing.

I have the same problem. For me it's really hard to work and study. I usually schedule my learning and my working time, so I'm not stuck with niether one.

That sounds like a good way to do it. I might have to give it a try.
