How much time a day do you spend to organize yourself -
07-15-2007, 11:12 PM
In a typical day, how do you go about organizing yourself? Do you work off a calender and go from there? Spend the last 15 minutes of the evening planning for tomorrow? Wake up in the morning and organize yourself? Just looking for suggestions.
Does anyone else use a 'day-timer' type notebook or PDA to keep them organized, on track, on time, with bills paid, deadlines met?
It uses 3" x 5" paper refills, small enough to carry in pocket or bag.
I have a Master List on my desktop in Word. It includes all the cleaning that gets done weekly, monthly and quarterly in the house. It also includes a basic calendar for the week and a long term project list. Every Sunday I look at my calendar in Outlook and update my Master to-do list. I work off of that list during the week. If need be I can print it to bring with me but I usually write up a shorter to-do list either in the evening or first thing in the morning for the day.
I never question when the last time anything was done because it is on that list. When I meal plan the weekly meals also go on the list on the day of the week.
I do it manually to prepare Master to-do list and strictly follow it, my problem is I get disrupted when some uninvited guest comes to our home in any busy Sunday.
I have a masterlist for the things that are done daily, weekly and so on. For other errands and appointments we have a big calendar on the kitchenwall.
I try to plan ahead for the week on sunday. Then in the morning, or the night before if that works better, I go over what I have to do, prioritize if necessary and write it down if necessary.
