Default Financial Spreadsheet For Income Tax - 06-12-2007, 03:02 PM

I use a spreadsheet to keep track of dates worked, earnings, commissions paid, GST earned, GST on commission, location of jobs and kilometres traveled for work.

Has anyone else here tried using these for items other than the usual income totals?

This is really a good example on how one can organize personal finance and have a control on every aspect of life.It is not very difficult to develop. I also have a spreadsheet where I keep my daily expenditure details.

That's an excellent idea. I haven't been using it to itemize daily expenses that weren't directly related to "jobs."

That would be great help in the case of an income tax audit.

I have a friend who uses a spread sheet for her monthly grocery shopping. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. Using it for taxes and spending sounds great.
