There are many items in our house which we don't need now but there are chances that some day we might need them. Generally, I try to keep these things in one place. But as there are items ranging for an old tape deck to unused CD's should I make other alternative and better arrangements?

You can copy the songs from your CDs onto your computer. That way, you can discard that CD without worrying if you'll need it in the future because you'll always have a copy on your computer. If you're afraid that the file might be deleted, you can make backups.

That's the thing. I have things I think I'm going to use and usually don't. I like the suggestion above. Or you could sell them and get new stuff.
