try to organized by shirts (dress---short sleeve) or you could do it by color. shoes are often a problem because people just have way to many.

Try the clothes hanger trick. :
At the start of summer reverse the way your clothes are hung in your closet. When you wear and return an item, replace the hanger the correct way around. At the end of the summer you can clearly see what you haven’t worn and, most likely, what you can live without!

I will also suggest that you go by color. It's easy to retrieve and easier yo organize.

Hi Couger!
Like randle, I organize my clothes by type - keeping the sweaters in one area, jeans in another, etc. Although, I don't buy plastic containers for my shoes - good idea though! I work for ORG, a home organization company, which specializes in closet organization. Check out some organizing tips and let me know what you think!

Sounds like it is time to purge. Take all your clothes out of the closet. Go through everything, if you cannot remember the last time you had something on put it to one side.

If you are very brave take everything you have put to one side and give it to charity. If you are not so sure. Box it all up and put a date on it. Anything that is still in that box, ie. you have not taken out to wear, in 12 months time has to go.

Organize everything by type. I like to hang my shirts and fold my pants. My bf is the opposite way, fold shirts hang pants.

what we don't use all that often gets put in tubs

throw the old once and only keep the useful one, new one. i do go with organizing with type wise. if its shirt then keep along with shirts, pants with pants, uws with uws, and likewise. that works. keeping color wise is also a great idea, it looks fresh..!!

I need to revamp my room. Right now I have a "walk-on floordrobe" going on and I'm sure I can get rid of at least a quarter of the clothing that's cluttering up my life.
