My trick is to put EVERYTHING on my list then night before. To put it simply, I have adult ADD and a thyroidal problem that makes me very forgetful. In order to remember to do even inane things like "eat breakfast," I have to write it down or I'll get busy with other things and before I realize I'm hungry, it's lunch lol.

In order to get in the habit, I always recommend putting in everything, from the routine to not routine. I mean, you don't have to log every trip to the loo, but add in a lot of things you do routinely and teach yourself to look and check them off... it keeps you going on your list and gives you a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

When I was recovering from a brain injury, I made up a daily todo list on the computer with blanks on the bottom. I printed out 7 a week and filled them in as I went. That way, I had all the typical daily list pretyped each day and only had to add appointments and new chores.

Have you heard of the Franklin-Covey Planner? They are available on-line and likely on e-bay. You just follow their instruction. Lists are priorized ABC. You must make 'appointments' with yourself to get items done. I can't explain but once you have written something down, you have made a committment to yourself. If you are serious you get it done, if not, you make excuses
