Dave, because my reply was already so lengthy, I didn't add some other tips. But perhaps these will help, too.
I keep a
used business-size envelope (from the mail) on the side of my refrigerator as my grocery list. I write things on it as they are needed. Then on Sundays, I finish the list with sale items. I locate coupons for the items on sale and place those
inside the envelope. Then I make a star in front of the item on the list. The star is a reminder that I have a coupon. I always check the coupon when buying to make sure that I have the right size item, etc.
I have further important info for saving at the grocery store, but I think I will start a new thread for that one.
