Default Throw it out! - 06-14-2007, 05:21 AM

If you haven't touched or read it in 6 months. Throw it out! You'll feel better. I can't tell you how many times I've told myself "What if". And it sits in my house or garage when I had one for ever untouched.

So true about the what if part I am often guilty of that and have been working on improving in that area.

Oh man...that is soooo hard to do. I'm a MAJOR packrat and I keep anything and everything, afraid that it will eventually become useful. Sure enough, when I get rid of things, I end up kicking myself later for it.

What were the things you threw out?

You can start out by throwing out papers. That's a big issue for pack rats. Also you can have a nick nack sale and a usless gadget sale. Just throw it out.

You can do it.

My hubby is a bad paper pack rat. He has boxes of them and he saved store adds that came in the mail. He claimed that he was going to look at them sometime to get ideas. Started throwing them out without him knowing and he realized that it was no big deal to throw them out.

Newspapers and magazines I can usually get rid of fairly easy. It's everything els I have a problem with. I am a pack rat.

Make containers of any style your next goal. It's easier than you think once you get them into the trash. Don't listen to your head tell you that 'what if' thing that keeps you storing stuff.

I suggest keeping two containers of three different sizes (MAX).

For me it's so hard to do that. I had to move few month ago and I had to throw a bunch of paper work and magazines away. Now I'm regreting. So it's important to think about what you're throwing away.

I try to get rid of my newspapers as soon as everyone is done reading them. The rest makes sense, but is hard to do.

I don't think that I could throw my magazines away because I loe to look at them every once in a while. To see and compare how celebs changed over time and what they were doing. I use them and put them up like a little personal library.
