Default How Best to Organize My Desk - 06-12-2007, 06:01 PM

It never fails that I end up with a collection of things that range from loose change and tic tac boxes to hair care products and vitamins. Where does all this stuff come from and how do I prevent this from happening? LOL

You have to decide about them on receiving these items. If you want to keep them then put them in proper place or if you don't want them then just send them to the bin.

I think that like many people (including me) you're settling for convenience. You should handle items the moment that you obtain them. If it's tic tac boxes that you don't need anymore, throw them away. If you just leave them on your desk amongst other items, the pile will only grow.

Go to Office Depot and buy an supply of desk organizers. You can pick and choose what every you want. Or you can make your own stuff by utilizing things around your house. Coffee mugs, lids to paper boxes, jewlery boxes etc and organize! The key to keeping a organized desk is once a day take 3 minutes to clean it up.

Sound advice. Thank you very much.... I definately think I'll invest in some organizers for starters and yes, I definately do a lot of convenience things (ie: There are hair ties and scrunchies on my desk today, because it's been hot and I often pull my hair back when I'm working) and hand lotion because my hands get dry from handling papers. Both things could be in the bathroom though, rather than on my desk.

I really need to do that myself. I have to get my desk put together.
