Default Color Coding - 06-01-2007, 02:27 AM

When I was a Navy Medic (Corpsman for those who know) we color coded the patient files by the last 4 digit of the Service number. This might help for office files. Maybe a different color alphabetically. Just a thought

I color code all my important papers when I file them. Like blue is for anything that has to do with our health insurance, green is our utility bills and so on. I have found this to be of a big help when I have to go back because I need a copy of something. I usually keep the old stuff for a year and then I go through it and throw away what is not needed anymore. Color coding is a very good idea.

Color Coding is really useful because one can easily recognize the relevant files from a distance by the color coding. It's really a good idea.

I color code the tabs on my manila folders all the time and they really help!! It can also be applied to almost every type of organization. The key to success with color codes is to decide what colors will represent that type of file and stick to it.

That is a great idea if you're working at an office. Every office needs a good file system. I use color code with labels. Medical is red, school is blue and so one but I'm at home.
