Don’t be too hard on yourself. Recognize that the clutter is often a reflection of something deeper that might be troubling you. Dealing with the clutter can open up not only the physical space in your life, but also your emotional, psychological and spiritual space as well!

True, I agree with what you're saying. I think that if you take the time to clean up your clutter and afterwards, your space becomes neater, it will also positively influence your attitude towards working. I mean, sometimes I try to sit down and work, but the mess on my desk really hinders my progress. I have to constantly look for various supplies and papers within the piles and piles on my desk. But after I clean up this pile, I can really work much more efficiently.

True. I think people don't take time to pick up and organize their things is because they themselves feel out of controll of life in general.

Organize the outside and you're over half way to being clear headed.

This is very VERY true. As being an individual that was diagnosed with a couple of problems myself, I can attest to the fact that when under periods of extreme stress or times when I feel overwhelmed, cleaning is incrediblly difficult and disorganized for me, and then I become even more frustrated because of the mess. It makes for a nasty and frustrating circle at times.

I suggest a simple way to organise your self. When you have received a large bunch of letters, at firsr glance through them and make a note at the bottom as action required or no action required. Then send those letters that requireno action to a concerened file. File the letters for which action is required and read them carefully along with old referanes and make out a suitable reply. After the action is over send the letter along with the reply to the concerened file. So by following this you avoid clutter on the desk and you are always relaxed. With best regards,
gsnarayanan

It is a pretty good idea. I have this problem myself, I have a lot of letters that I put down meaning to go through later, and never do.

That's true, good point. I think everything is connected together in some kind of way!
