Default Easy Closet Organization? - 06-12-2007, 06:32 AM

Hi!. I am 14 years old, and a extrordinarily messy person, I can spend a day cleaning, then when I go to get dressed again the next morning my room is a total mess. What are some easy ways i can organize my closet so that it stays clean for more then a day. Easy&Inexpensive please. thanks a ton.

If you think about it, it takes longer for you to pick up your mess than it would to hang up your clothes and put your shoes away every night. However, it's easier said than done. I got this cool shoe organizer from LTD that hangs from any door. It can hold up to 30 pairs. I also have two hampers in my room: one for colored clothes and one for white. Then when it's time to do laundry, you don't have to spend extra time sorting. And just try to make yourself clean up after yourself every night. Think about the mess you will make if you let it pile up and about how much time you are going to spend cleaning it up. If you keep your room clean during the week, you'll have extra time during the weekend to do other stuff (other than cleaning). That's always a motivation for me. Good luck!

Ask one of your teachers if the school's copy room has long boxes that the ink refills come in. The boxes are just right to organize your socks, underwear, and all kinds of small things. You can put a colored paper label on the end and slide the boxes onto the shelf. I have several closets organized with those boxes. And they're free ... and environmentally friendly.

Default Closet help - 06-12-2007, 08:48 PM

I used to be the same way. First, off get a hamper in your closet and put any clothes you worn in there. Next, if you don't like it or don't wear it throw it away this creates more of a mess. Get a shoe box and put all shoes in there that way they are not laying everywhere.

Hope this helped

Hey looks like we have the same problem. What I do is put all the clothes that I wear most often toward the center of the closet and when that doesn't work I have a basket on the floor for clothes I decided not to wear so that when I get home I can just hang them back up.

Default Helpful tips for organizing your room! - 06-13-2007, 09:49 PM

Hey Jessica,
Sounds like a problem I used to have! You could try organizing your clothes by type (pants, sweaters, sweatshirts, etc.) and put the ones you wear the most often towards the front of your closet. Also, the company I'm an intern for, ORG, has some great tips I think you would really like and can use. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Good luck!

I have a 16 yr old that has the same problem. The one thing she does is she never completely cleans her room to begin with. That gives it a head start on being a mess again. I put stay at home clothes on one side and going places clothes on the other. She also has a hamper in her room. The first thing I would suggest is to get into the habit of making your bed every morning as soon as you get up. That goes a long way to looking more neat.My daughters bedroom is right off the living room and if her door is open and it is a mess it takes away from the neat appearence of our living room.So I mostly keep her door closed. If you clean it up entirly once and clean up after yourself right after it should stay clean! It only takes a few seconds to put things back into their proper spaces.
