We just went through this ourselves! We took a variety of strategies:1. Pegboard: We put up three sheets of pegboard, and that now contains every garden tool, including the weed eater, leaf blower, snow shovels, etc.2. Shelving: We put up two shelves (the white laminate covered shelving boards from any home retailer like Lowe's). They are both 16' long. One is about 5' off the floor, and the other is about 6'6" of the floor. Underneath, we park our bikes and my potting bench.3. Cabinets: My husband scored some kitchen cabinets, and hung them over his workbench.4. Workbench: The hubby has a 12' long workbench, for all of his "stuff."Then, everything is placed for a)ease of putting things where they belong (so, the trash toter is right outside the back door), and b) logic in finding it later (screwdrivers are in the tool cabinet). Every garage is different--and has different stuff. You'll need to combine a few different strategies to take care of your things. The ultimate question is how much stuff you need, and want. The more you have and keep, the more challenging this will be!
