Default For Kids, Its Bottom to Top - 06-07-2007, 10:13 PM

When we're organizing a kid's room, its best to start at the bottom and work your way up to the top. Taking height into account, items that the child uses often such as beloved toys and dolls should be kept at the bottom of the shelf(drawer, floor etc.) On the other hand, belongings that are rarely used should be kept on the upper levels.

When I lived with my sister we put things that made a big mess or things that got lost easy, such as puzzles. We would put them on the upper shelves so that if they wanted them they had to ask and we could supervise and make sure they kept the pieces together.

We once had a horrible mess of legos all over the floor kept finding them for days and days. Even found some in the laundry bin have no clue as to how they got there though.

Yep that's what we do. And a good thing to remember is to clean the kids room out when they're out. I do this and my girls never know I've cleaned toys out. They just figure they have misplaced it.
