Default Freecycle - 05-30-2007, 03:52 AM

I am a big fan of freecycle. I have been able to get rid of some bigger things this way. I have even been able to get rid of some things that didn't work because someone else could fix them.

Has anyone else ever freecycled?

Question 05-31-2007, 03:03 AM

I have not herd of them before. What do they do? Are they some kind of charity? Where are they located?

freecycling is giving away items that may not be needed to you anymore but can still be useful for others. a simple way to describe it is "one man's trash is another man's treasure." this keeps the items from going to landfills. there are many organizations such as the Freecycle Network that coordinate these activities. i think that this is a great idea, because it's really environmentally friendly =]

Akari..that is a very neat idea. Wish a lot more people give "freecycling" a try. Would save us environment issue later in the future as well. Awesome

I used freecycle before, and it could be my area/state, but I found that despite the fact these people were getting free stuff, they would complain about the color of an item or the fact that the manual I provided with the item wasn't in perfect condition or say they were going to come at a certain time and then not show up. So I just stopped using it.

Default All about freecycle - 06-11-2007, 10:00 AM

I personally love freecycle they pretty much have a site yahoo group for almost every cities in the country.
Here is a little bit of information about them.
The Freecycle Network is a social network service that aims to divert useable goods from landfill and strengthen local reuse and recycling communities. It provides an online forum for individuals and non-profits to offer and receive free items for reuse or recycling.

Here is the website:
Freecycle™: Changing the World One Gift at a Time

Enjoy!!!!

I subscribe to freecycle in my area. I love the idea ,although I have yet to list any items or accept any. I still like the concept of it .I subscribe to it and anytime someone has something to give away it comes into my email box. Great idea!
