Default best tip for organizing your house! - 05-29-2007, 05:56 AM

Start Slow.: It’s taken months for your house to become cluttered so it’s not realistic to try and organize everything in one day or even a weekend. Instead, start small – one room or section of a room at a time. Make a commitment every day to clean sweep another part of your home until it’s done.

thanks for the tip! sometimes when i look into a random room and see the mess that i've accumulated over the months, i'm suddenly filled with energy and an ambitious (but almost impossible) goal to clean up the mess. BIG MISTAKE! it takes so much time just cleaning one room. so i agree, starting slow is the right thing.

I have been doing that with our house. I had a kidney transplant 3 year ago and still have days were I don't feel like doing anything at all so, my house get messy pretty fast. I find that if I write down three goals to do at the house everyday that it stays a little cleaner and more organized.

Thats a great idea. Cleaning in increments sounds like the way to go. Like it can take days for me to clean my dinning room table. .Sometimes I get a bag and remove all the things that belong in another room first.Actually thats most of the clutter.

Why is it that everything seems to end up on the table? I find that our table always has the remote, a hair brush or some sort of strange item on it. Most of the time I'm not the one who put the stuff there in the first place but, I am the one it seems that puts the stuff where they go.
