I give everyone notice that a certain Saturday will be "Garage Day". We will make a 1/2 day event out of it and everyone is outside at the same time working together. If it isn't a pre-planned family event, it just doesn't get done.

We don't have a garage anymore lol.. When we did I don't think it ever got cleaned until my hubby and I decided to turn it into a garage apartment for us. However, my parents ended up moving into it instead of us funny how things change huh.

I find that using clear tubs helps with organizing things. They're easily stackable and then you can see what's in them if you need to get them down. Plus they help keep out the water especially in the winter time when everything's wet.

We have parking spaces in a condo building so we don't have a "garage" where we can store garbage. The garbage is easy to deal with as the chute is just down the hall.

As for junk, we also have a locker which is full of things we should be keeping and others that are questionable. That's our biggest organizational problem right now.

My garage became my auction purchases storage location some time ago and now I can't even get into it. So, no more auctions for me until it is clean. Plastic totes (clear ones) sound good. Maybe I will start tomorrow.
