instead of throwing it out, you can bring it to drop-off centers where they collect and recycle the tv. it's environmentally-friendly and much more efficient then throwing it out. | | | | Member | | Posts: 45 Join Date: Jun 2007

Yes, if the TV's work then I would take them to like the Salvation Army or some place like that. I don't think we have a recycle place here for old TV's other than like a Goodwill or places like that. | | | | Junior Member | | Posts: 3 Join Date: Jun 2007

Just do one thing, there are some offers running in supermarkets that bring your old electronic item and get high discount on buying another item from same category. It helps you from your problem. | | | | Member | | Posts: 41 Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Central, Texas | | | Crafty Idea for Tv -

My sister has made flower pots out of her old televisions. She just took out all the parts and stuffed potting soil in it and planted a few herbs. Otherwise, you can sale the television at certain places that use the working parts. | | | | Member | | Posts: 44 Join Date: Jun 2007 | | | old tv -

Search through your local paper. Our paper has a section called
"people helping people" if the tvs work maybe some family could use them. Also I find ads in our paper where some people will come pick up your working or non working tv or appliances. | | | | Member | | Posts: 41 Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Central, Texas

Hummingbird, I wish our paper had one of those sections. All we have is freecyle on the internet.
However, you can look at your local paper and look in the wanted section, I'm sure there are people looking for television and other things you might have just lying around the house.
You could always put an ad in the paper for television for sale or post a sign on your street saying tv for sale or give away. | | | | Member | | Posts: 41 Join Date: Jun 2007

This reminds me of a couple places in my area I know of that recycle computers.
I wonder if that kind of place would handle TVs that aren't operational, too? | | | | Member | | Posts: 36 Join Date: Jun 2007

If your old TV works, I would bring it to a women’s shelter or a drop off center. They could probably use another TV. There are also a lot of underprivileged families that would love to have a TV no doubt. One person’s garbage is another person’s treasure. | | | | Member | | Posts: 63 Join Date: May 2007
