Default Bathroom shelves, cupboards - 07-08-2007, 03:54 AM

Help! I have like 50 million bottles of lotion, well not that many, that I've acquired from bdays and christmases. How do I organize them. What is the best way?

Are there any cute little organizers for this type of thing?

The best way to organise them is to (1) stick lables on each container. The lable should give a serial number.(2) And arrange them neatly in a shelf with the serila numbers facing out side such that the selection is easy.(3) Maintain a note pad where you describe each container. You can write a brief about the container with details of purchase date or some other importanr referance. Now it is very easy to explain to your friends about the collections.

I would pick out 3 or so of each type and then donate the rest to charity. It is easy to accumulate that type of stuff around the holidays.

Keep what you use and donate the rest to somewhere. If you are like me, your family will just get you more. Wish I could give better hints at Christmas.

We use a lg. roll-up cosmetic travel bag for lotions and hair products. It has 4 zip compartments, clear heavy duty vinyl front, fabric back and hang it inside the bathroom cupboard door. 1st section holds creams & lotions, 2nd section hold shampoo & conditioner, 3rd holds curling irons, 4th foot products.

I send sample sizes to Red Cross. As we use up a product we just replace with the next. If they have expiry dates I highlight the label before putting it in the bag and rotate it into the group. DKs have product preferences so we generally have several hair products going concurrently.

you are more apt to use the products if they are within arm reach. I keep lotion on the bathrm counters, night table, computer desk, kitchen sink, by the phone and with dog gooming supplies in the living room [under the lamp table]
