Default What to do with old books? - 05-28-2007, 03:54 PM

I have a bunch of picture books, chapter books that are no longer useful to me. the really old ones will probably not sell for much online, so I'm planning to donate them. the problem is I don't know where they'll accept it. do you know any orgnizations that accepts these donations?

Our local library accepts donations. They sell them twice a year at their library book sales. Also, try your local schools -- they may be able to use some of the books.

Have a yard sale, or donate them to a local church or other organization that might need them. A hospital might want them for their "bookmobile" that goes around to patients in care.

You can also check out the local YMCA or boys and girls clubs of america.

So those that have sold this type of stuff on ebay how does that work?

on ebay: basically, you sign up for a seller's or buyer's account (separately). then you follow a series of steps, such as listing the item, setting the price etc. its pretty simple, the instructions could be found on the ebay.com website.
thanks for the suggestions!

Hi,

You may also want try amazon or Froogle to help sell your old books. Also checkout the value of the books before you list them on eBay. Some may be considered "collectors items" depending on the condition of the book and worth more. Amazon, eBay and Froogle will provide you with good exposure to sell your old books.
