i got an email about murder of a girl by her online friend. she refused the proposal so the guy killed her, shot dead. they knew eachother because of ORKUT, social networking website.

now people are blaming for ORkut, but i dont thing that ORKUT is responsible for this. this kind of cases happens because of personal attachments and feelings.

Agreed. If they met via a newspaper personal add would they blame the paper? No. If she refused the proposal over the phone, do they blame the phone company? No. So why blame a website?

I think it is an unfortunate thing to happen. But no not web sites fault. You have to be very careful about getting involved with people on the web. Some people out there are sick and will pray on people on the web cause we can't really know them that well. You just have to be very careful and don't give out your personal info.

That right there is why I am afraid to get personally involved with anyone I meet over a website. This is just terrible but in no way the fault of the website.
