Perhaps you should look into various ways to keep organized. I find that one of the best ways to keep organized is to be disciplined. People who don’t have discipline can’t stick to any plan. That is what I discovered.

The first thing to do is start with a budget.

One one side, how much do you earn each month?

On the other what debts do you have and how much in each month do you have to pay off?
Then how much do you spend to live?

Then set some goals.

Like clearing debt, starting to save. By starting to save I mean long term savings and not just saving to buy more stuff.

I think you should do this by yourself if you say that your husband has no self descipline.
First of all, you should count all your family earning and start form here. I think phaedrus gave you a good plan to start!

It sounds like it is up to you. Explain to your husband that you are setting up a budget and need his help to stay within it. If he wants to help you, that just makes it easier. Either put it on the internet or get a setup from a office supply company so that you can have a system. Once you do, stick with it.

Consider buying 'Quicken' or 'Money' 'puter program and making an appointment with yourself to input every ________ @ ______o'clock. You can link with your bank and other financial institutions for instant updates. The program will give you your financial information with the click of a key!

The initial set-up is easy-peasy but takes time. Once done it just continues even when you update their program. It doesn't matter if your DH doesn't co operate the figures are there! If DH will dump his receipts into a shoe box on the bureau...you will be able to sort categories for the program.

Procrastination is like a credit card: it’s a lot of fun until you get the bill. [Parker]
