I watch a program on HGTV.ca called Neat. I also watch mission organization. I get very emotional when I see the end results. I think it's because I wish it were me there. Anyway, some tips I picked up are get someone else to handle your stuff. This seems to make it easier. Well actually it is as I tried it once and am going to do it again. At first it's hard to do but gets easier with everything you go through. Then the golden rule 1 in 1 out 2 in 2 out etc. This is a great rule to follow. Before I buy something new, I ask myself what's the trade in lol. I just bought a new dish set and knew I had to get rid of the old one. I'm passing it on to one of my children as they need a set of dishes, therefore I followed this rule 1 in 1 out. I feel good about my decision. My biggest problem is yarn and patterns and tools needed to knit and crochet with. At the time, I didn't know the rules of 1 in 1 out lol, so now I see myself with this one big problem lol Yes there seems to be a psychological reason why we keep clutter. I believe mine is that I was not rich as a child and far from that now too lol, but I think my reason for so much yarn is just in case I can't afford anymore and also boredome, this way I have plenty on hand and plenty of yarn for future projects to keep me busy. So look into your background and you may discover the reasons why you're a packrac or why you have so much clutter.
